DIY Shower Melts

After a long exhausting day, there is nothing in the world like a long hot bath. Unfortunately....... that  bath doesn't always happen. Sometimes Many times a quick shower is the norm. (Y'all know what I'm talking about). Luckily I've discovered these amazing shower melts that make even the fastest of showers feel just as rejuvenating.

Basically these shower melts dissolve in the steam and release the essential oils for your benefit. (I chose eucalyptus and peppermint for these melts). They are super fast and easy to make, and are great for a thoughtful gift for your friend that's constantly on the go!

Shower Melts:

- 2 Cups Corn Starch
- 7-10 drops of your choice of essential oils (or if you're feeling reaaaaally under the weather a few tablespoons of Vics Vapor Rub).....( A great get well gift)
- 1/4 cup water (slowly add more as needed)
- ice cube trey

Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Slowly add water as needed until you get the consistency of a paste. Spoon mixture into ice cube tray and place in the freezer for 1hr to set. Take out the tray and carefully pop out each melt. Put them on a paper towel lined plate to let any excess moisture out. After melts are completely dry, place in an air tight container to store.

To make into a thoughtful homemade gift, grab your favorite candle, soap bar, and bundle them with ribbon and a homemade tag. If it's for a friend under the weather, bring over some homemade chicken noodle soup and a warm loaf of bread. You'll be the best friend anyone has ever had!

This past week and a half has been super crazy for our family. We had a couple Dr. appointments for baby Ty. Good news we're pretty much in the clear for his torticollis no more PT!!! On the downside.. we're about 90% sure we'll have to get a helmet to help fix his flat spot. He'll rock it though so we're not too worried. Eric got stitches on his thumb after he tried fixing our blender....I felt awful! :( Lastly on a more exciting note we closed on a property that we're going to start renting out. We have people scheduled to do walk throughs this weekend. Keep your fingers crossed for us!Needless to say, it's been a long week (both good and bad).

  1. These bath melts sound awesome! I made my own homemade bath bombs a few months back, and they were nice, but they didn't really "bomb" like I'd wanted them to! But I wanted to try bath melts after I tried those so I think I'll have to make these soon! Especially since I already have all the ingredients.
